Vocalist, Violinist, and Educator

Born and raised in Shah Alam, Ms. Vickneswary's musical journey began under the foundational guidance of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paramasivam. Seeking to refine her craft, she began formal training at age eight in Thevaram and Sangeetham at the Panniru Thirumurai Valarchi Maiyam (PTVM). She studied under esteemed mentors, including Thevara Isaikalaimani Mrs. Parimala Jeyasilan, Isaikalaimani Ms. Kalaikodi Raju, Nun Kalaimani Ms. Jamunah, and Thirumurai Sigamani Thondarmaamani Mr. Arthimulam Arthan.

Advanced Training and Artistry

Ms. Vickneswary further expanded her musical repertoire at age 14 by taking up the violin. To achieve technical mastery, she traveled to Chennai, India, for intensive vocal and violin courses under the tutelage of the renowned Thirumurai Kalanidhi Thiruthani N. Swaminathan and acclaimed violinist Dr. Amirtharaj.

With a career spanning numerous years, Ms. Vickneswary has performed Thirumurai Katcheri at prominent temples and events across Malaysia. Her notable professional achievements include:

Current Role

Ms. Vickneswary is currently dedicated to nurturing the next generation of artists. She serves as an educator at PTVM Subang Jaya, where she conducts specialized lessons in both Sangeetham and Thevaram.


 

Tinesha Mohan

Instructor of Basic Sangeetham and Thirumurai at PTVM

Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Tinesha Mohan's musical journey began at the age of eight, learning Thevaram alongside her sister under the guidance of her parents, the late Mr. Mohan and Madam Pakiam. In 2006, her family moved to Subang Jaya to further her studies at Panniru Thirumurai Valarchi Maiyam (PTVM). There, she honed her craft in both Sangeetham and Thevaram under the mentorship of esteemed masters including Mrs. Parimala Jeyasilan, Ms. Kalaikodi Raju, Ms. Jamunah, and Mr. Arthimulam Arthan.

Tinesha seamlessly blends her deep knowledge of Sangeetham to elevate her Thevaram recitals. With hundreds of performances across Malaysia's temples and religious events, her talent has earned her international recognition, including specialized vocal and keyboard training in Chennai, India, under Thirumurai Kalanidhi Thiruthani N. Swaminathan and violinist Dr. Amirtharaj.

Beyond the stage, Tinesha has recorded featured songs for PTVM and the Sri Jeganath Divine Centre and has appeared on Astro Vaanavil's Arulum Palanum. Today, she shares her passion for these ancient arts by teaching Thevaram and Basic Sangeetham at PTVM and through private classes in Subang Jaya.


 

Alagendra Mahendra

Violinist

Alagendra's musical journey began at the age of four with vocal training under the late Vijayalakshmi Kulaveerasingam. At eight, he was introduced to the violin through Western classical music, and at fourteen, he transitioned to the Carnatic violin under the tutelage of Sri Sriram Sheshadri. He is currently pursuing advanced vocal training under Shrimathi Visalakshi Nityanand.

With the blessings of his guru, Alagendra has accompanied and performed with various local and international vocalists and Othuvars in kutcheris, as well as in classical dance performances and musical productions.

In addition to his musical pursuits, Alagendra holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), completed in 2017, and a Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP), obtained in 2018.

Under the banner "Forbearance – TheCarnaticViolin.com", he is part of a team of teachers dedicated to nurturing students across the Klang Valley.

Guided by humility and devotion, Alagendra continues to deepen his love for the Carnatic violin, remaining committed to lifelong learning and sharing the joy of this timeless art form.
